This page will contain information about future training courses, workshops and study days arranged by the Branches of GBKA.
If you are interested in keeping bees please contact your nearest branch. All the Branches will be very pleased to help you learn about beekeeping and provide practical training and advice.
The very popular Basic Beekeeping Course organised by Dean Forest Beekeepers, led by Master Beekeeper Jim Vivian-Griffiths, will be running again in 2018.
There will be 6 evening sessions starting on 19th February, followed by four practical sessions in our apiary. The course provides a complete introduction to beekeeping for beginners and those who take it can be very confident of keeping bees successfully.
If you would like more information on the course please phone Jim on 01600 714428 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
New beekeepers are encouraged to take the BBKA Basic Assessment, which covers the essential things that beekeepers need to know to keep bees successfully.
For those who want to get higher level qualifications there is a structure leading up to the highest qualification, Master Beekeeper, which is shown in the following diagram published by the magazine Bee Craft.
